Dr. Don S. Schmidt

At twenty-three years old, I experienced serious personal motivation to regain my health after a severe injury. Following years of worsening pain and dysfunction, I suffered a ruptured lower lumbar disc. After being unable to walk for 42 days, I underwent spinal surgery. Sadly, pain began to return within a month of the surgery! Proper spinal alignment through Chiropractic care and corrective exercise were instrumental in achieving my complete recovery.

My undergraduate studies were completed at William Patterson College in New Jersey. I received my Doctorate from Life College of Chiropractic, Magna cum Laude.

I have been married for 15 years to my lovely wife "Tree". Our Border Terrier, Scotti, provides hours of entertainment and endless walking opportunities. Tree and I enjoy skiing, long-distance bicycling, working out, travelling, swimming, and scuba diving. I've ridden the 120 mile "Triple bypass" bike ride three times, and the 157 mile "Courage Classic" (a benefit for Children's Hospital) eight times to date.

Education:

I am passionate about working with joints outside the spine. "Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner". Like most Americans I was unaware that some Chiropractors are experts in the joints outside of the spine, as well as the spine itself. During my Chiropractic training, I sprained an ankle (for the fourth time). I received my first extremity adjustments on the ankle at that time. The dramatically quick recovery from that injury (and no re-injury for 29 years) inspired me to pursue this advanced certification. I am one of few doctors to hold this certification. It's proven to be very helpful to athletes of all types, as well as those with nagging arm and leg problems.

Professional History

I have been practicing in Boulder since 1995. It has been my pleasure to work with several Olympians & National Champions, and great numbers of casual athletes and plenty of regular folks.

I primarily utilizes the Gonstead System of Chiropractic, Sacro Occipital Technique, Activator Methods, Extremity adjusting, and Myofascial Release. In our office, we place a strong emphasis on teaching our patients correct techniques of rehabilitative exercise, and Ergonomics for a complete recovery from injuries.

Dr. Eliu J. Hernandez

Dr. Eliu Hernandez grew up in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating from Western Illinois University, he received his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He moved to Colorado after graduating in 2004.

Dr. Hernandez expressed interested in chiropractic at a young age. His family used to go to the Palmer Clinic together. At the time, his brother who was ten years old, had back pain and could not sit properly. After several adjustments, he was sitting properly and had stopped complaining of pain. His 8-year-old sister also saw remarkable results as demonstrated by positive changes with her asthma. His mother experienced relief of neck pain and low back pain and his father has seen positive changes in his digestive issues as well as in his foot and ankle problems.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching soccer at all levels. You might also catch him at Red Rocks or at The Fox Theater as he enjoys music, especially live shows. He's an avid quilter at MadeOrRemade.

He's a lover of the outdoors and he really enjoys spending time in the mountains. He recently spent 25 minutes in a crazy hail storm while sitting in natural hot springs. He's married to Marissa--they have a young daughter. The entire family is owned by Simba, an adorable Shih Tzu Lhasa Apso mix. They love taking trips together.

He also enjoys telling others about the wonders of chiropractic. He speaks at public events on many different topics. Please contact the office if you would like more information.
