David Fairman, RMT

David Fairman, PNMT, is a registered massage therapist and an honors graduate of the Boulder School of Massage Therapy; '96.

David's massage style is strongly treatment oriented, and reflects his continuing training in Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, Advanced Myofascial Therapy, Shiatsu and Spinal Reflex Analysis. David has been in practice at Mountainview Chiropractic Center since 1998. He received his BS from the University of Colorado, Boulder, 1988.

David's work is specific, therapeutic and relaxing; striving to address functional limitations and pain as well as help identify and relieve mental and emotional stresses held in the body. David draws from his detailed study of anatomy, muscle and meridian function, various orthopedic tests, and evaluation of positional imbalances to assess your situation.

David's work is effective in reducing pain and recovery time while increasing function of soft tissues affected by physical trauma, sprain/strain, inflammation, whiplash, repetitive use injury, athletic training, nerve impingement, TMJ dysfunction, and general stress. Local soft tissue work is performed within the context of relaxing the nervous system and helping to evaluate and unwind broader systemic patterns of contraction or fixation.

David's goal is to deliver effective treatment while creating a relaxing restorative experience.

Precision Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy employs various functional assessments to identify and focus on your particular issues. Treatment includes trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, myofascial therapy, attachment point therapy and deep specific massage strokes to address pain, ischemia, adhesions, nerve entrapment, range of motion and weakness.

Advanced Myofascial Therapy

Myofascial Therapy looks at postural, positional, structural and functional imbalances which impacts an individual's overall sense of well being.

Shiatsu Therapy

Shiatsu Therapy works more lightly, with the meridian system, to balance the autonomic nervous system and support the response-ability of the whole: body, mind and emotions. In this way it works to create a more optimal environment (via relaxation) for the body to heal itself. Shiatsu is hands-on work that addresses the more subtle energetic anatomy, and thus the subtler aspects of who we are. It can support in us things we can't touch with our hands, like immune function, vitality, digestion, elimination, flexibility in life, coping with challenging emotions, decision making, emotional safety, and quality of sleep, just to name a few. Shiatsu is especially effective in helping unwind the patterns of mental and emotional stress we can carry in our bodies and in our lives.

Spinal Reflex Analysis

Spinal Reflex Analysis a system of identifying and "turning off" patterns of reflexive muscular contractions along the spine. These patterns of contraction (Axial Spinal Reflexes) are generated below the level of the brain, down in the spinal column's arc reflex loops. When stuck "on", these muscle reflex patterns can lead to muscular pain and dysfunction locally as well as reflect into the extremities. ASRs can also impact organ function. ASRs originate directly from irritation or instability at any vertebral facet articulation in the spine. They can also be triggered by stresses such as poor diet and external factors. Releasing these contraction patterns using attachment point therapy frees the body from constrictive non-functional patterns, and floods the body with healing neuro-chemistry. Endorphins and serotonin are released as part of the internal chemical response. They in turn wash away held stress, promote local healing, decrease inflammation, and provide an overall deep relaxation. This modality requires an hour and a half appointment.
