Mechanical Neck Pain
Mechanical refers to the structures in your neck that support and help the process of movement. The joints and muscles in the neck are most commonly involved, but ligaments providing stability and support may also be the cause. When these structures are not working properly, whether there is improper movement at a joint or adhesions within a muscle, the result will be pain. Mechanical neck pain is the most common reason to have neck pain and it is usually the result of abnormal stress due to improper posture.
Symptoms of mechanical neck pain are localized neck pain when moving the head, pain spreading down into the shoulders and headaches.
The Chiropractors at Mountainview Chiropractic Center will assess to determine the root cause of the mechanical neck pain and provide the patient with the appropriate treatment protocol.
The practitioners treat patients with mechanical neck pain by:
- Chiropractic adjustments to help restore normal joint motion
