Biceps Tendonitis

Biceps Tendonitis

Biceps tendonitis occurs when the long tendon of the biceps muscle gets irritated and becomes inflamed. Repetitive use with the arm overhead is the most common cause for someone to develop biceps tendonitis. Degeneration of this biceps tendon can cause this pain to worsen, and the symptoms to become more severe.

Common symptoms of biceps tendonitis are pain in the front of the shoulder worsened by overhead activity, pain traveling into the bicep, and clicking in the front of the shoulder.

The Chiropractors at Mountainview Chiropractic Center will assess the shoulder joint as well as the surrounding structures to determine the appropriate treatment protocol for the patient.

The practitioners treat biceps tendonitis by:

  • Chiropractic adjustments to restore normal joint motion
  • Myofascial release to release adhesions in damaged tissue to take stress off the biceps tendon
  • Discussing the importance of rest and ice to limit inflammation
  • Rehabilitation exercises to provide stability to the shoulder

We have a history of treating patients with biceps tendonitis injuries very effectively!

We would love to help you reduce your shoulder pain!
