Rotator Cuff Injury

Rotator Cuff Injury

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles that help support and provide movement to your shoulder joint. Common causes of an injury to the rotator cuff can include trauma, repetitive use, and degeneration. Depending on the amount of damage to the muscle or tendon, some rotator cuff injuries require surgery, while others respond well to conservative care.

Symptoms

Common symptoms of rotator cuff injuries are pain with movement, weakness, decreased shoulder range of motion, and feeling of instability in the shoulder.

The Chiropractors at Mountainview Chiropractic Center will assess the shoulder joint as well as the surrounding structures to determine the appropriate treatment protocol for the patient.

The practitioners treat rotator cuff injuries by:

  • Chiropractic adjustments to restore normal joint motion
  • Myofascial release to release adhesions in damaged tissue
  • Rehabilitation exercises to provide stability to the shoulder joint
